What's in it, and how we label it.
If you've ever stood in the aisle Googling an ingredient list, this page is for you.
1. The full ingredient list, on every product page.
Each hair-care product page shows its full ingredient list (the INCI list), in order from most to least. When a product contains fragrance, it appears as "Fragrance (Parfum)," as US labeling rules allow. A fragrance is a blend, so known fragrance allergens, like linalool, are also listed by name.
2. Scented, and clearly labeled.
All three of our hair-care products, the Sulfate-Free Curl Shampoo, the 3-in-1 Curl Conditioner and the Rosemary Scalp & Hair Oil, are scented, and we'd rather tell you up front than make you hunt for it. Each one has a Scent section on its page that says "Contains fragrance," and the fragrance appears in its ingredient list. The oil also contains peppermint and rosemary essential oils.
We don't have a fragrance-free product right now. Our printable guides and the Wash-Day Starter Bundle are digital downloads.
3. No "all natural" talk.
We don't call our products "all natural" or "organic." Instead, we tell you specifically what's in each one and let you decide.
4. "Natural" doesn't automatically mean "right for you."
Plant oils and extracts can irritate skin too, and some of ours come from nuts, like argan and sweet almond oil. That's why each product page names its allergens and asks you to patch test first: apply a small amount to your inner forearm and wait 24 hours. If you notice redness, itching or irritation, don't use it, and tell us.
5. Honest claims.
Our shampoo is made to cleanse buildup and product residue, our conditioner to add moisture, slip and softness, and our scalp oil to condition the scalp and add shine. That's all we claim. These are cosmetics for cleansing, conditioning and moisturizing, not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Both the Sulfate-Free Curl Shampoo and the 3-in-1 Curl Conditioner contain alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs): lactic acid and citric acid. If your scalp or hair is changing in a way that worries you, please see a dermatologist.
6. Made by a partner, labeled by us.
Our products are made by a cosmetics manufacturer and shipped by our fulfillment partner, with our label on them. We write every product page ourselves, we only make cosmetic claims, and we tell you which textures each product suits best.
7. Questions, or had a reaction?
Email us at hello@kimbelo.com or use our contact page. If you've had a reaction to one of our products, stop using it and tell us through the contact page or by email. We read every report and keep a record of it.
